The 2012 Summer School on the Lattice Boltzmann Method was successfully held in Tsinghua University from July 9-13, 2012. The Summer School was co-organized by Beijing Computational Science Research Center (CSRC), International Conference for Mesoscopic Methods in Engineering and Science (ICMMES) and Zhou Pei-Yuan Center for Applied Mathematics in Tsinghua University. It was the second term of the short-term schools on the Lattice Boltzmann Method (LBM) held by CSRC. It aims to initiate the students and new scholars into the basic theories and Numerical algorithms of LBM filed.
After seven specialized sessions given by Dr Paul Dellar, Prof. Wen-an Yong, Prof. Francois Dubois, Prof. Taehun Lee, Dr. Thomas Zeiser, Dr. Tim Reis, Prof. ZhaoliGuo and two interaction sessions between the audience and Prof. Li-shi Luo, every participant of the summer school had one’s own gains. The summer school not only taught knowledge, brought an interaction platform but also attracted many new researchers into the field of LBM.
