2014-07-05 10:22

During July 3-5, 2014, the 1st International Workshop on Frontiers in Quantum Optics and Quantum Information: Quantum Computing with Electron Spin Qubits (QOQI2014) was successfully held in Beijing Computational Science Research Center. The workshop was organized by Beijing Computational Science Research Center (CSRC) and Kavli Institute of Theoretical Physics China (KITPC), as a kickoff meeting for the Electron Spin Qubit (theoretical) program at KITPC.

The workshop mainly focused on the current status and future directions of research on electron spin qubits for quantum computing, particularly in GaAs, Silicon, and Carbon. Nearly 70 participants attended this international meeting, including Prof S. Das Sarma (University of Maryland), Prof Seigo Tarucha (University of Tokyo and RIKEN), Prof Robert Joynt (University of Wisconsin), Prof Joerg Wrachtrup (University of Stuttgart), Prof Xuedong Hu (University at Buffalo), Prof Jiangfeng Du (University of Science and Technology of China) and so on.

During the three-day workshop, there were 18 invited talks and 20 posters. This workshop successfully provided a platform of academic communication in discussing the current status and future directions of research on electron spin qubits for quantum computing.
