On August 10, 2011, a new Memorandum of Understanding for academic exchange and collaboration was signed by Beijing Computational Science Research Center (CSRC), and Old Dominion University. The focused area of this cooperation between CSRC and ODU is computational science and engineering (CSE).
Old Dominion University (ODU), established in 1930, is a large public research university located in Norfolk, Virginia, United States, and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. It is now one of only 101 public universities with a Carnegie/Doctoral Research-Extensive distinction. According to the National Science Foundation, eighteen ODU programs are ranked amongst the top 100 of their respective national peers. The MOU is aims at prompting the academic collaboration, research personnel exchange and related educational programs in theoretical and computational science between CSRC and ODU; meanwhile it will pave the way for the future academic cooperation between CSRC and other famous universities and colleges worldwide.
