User Policy

The Tianhe2JK high performance parallel computing cluster is designed to accomplish large scale parallel computing tasks of center researchers and their collaborators. In order to make best usage of the limited computing resources, it is strongly encouraged that only computing code which have been tested for its capability of good parallel performance to be used on this machine. Therefore, serial codes and codes of inferior parallel performance (less than 30% efficiency) are strongly discouraged to be run on this machine.

As users of the cluster, the following usage and access policy will be strictly enforced and violations will subject concerned users to queuing priority degradation or suspension of account access privileges.

The responsibilities of Tianhe2-JK User include but not limited to:

The proper use of the tools Tianhe2-JK provides and maintaining confidentiality of information entrusted to you.

Your computer accounts are assigned to you and access to collaborators (graduate students, postdoc, and visitors) should be pre-approved by the review committee by filing appropriate documentation. You must protect your passwords, select secure complex passwords and change them regularly.

No unethical usage is allowed, including: unauthorized use of computer accounts and resources assigned to others, use of computingfacilities for private business or personal gain.  You are required to read, understand, and comply with (as appropriate) any requests sent to you by CSRC relating to cyber or information security.

You should report to cluster administration any breach of security, policy violation, or suspicious activity.

Authority of the enforcement of this policy resides in the IT committee of CSRC.
